Update: Wegmans Cleared, 2 Carjacking Suspects Arrested, 2 Suspects Sought

WOODBRIDGE, VA — Suspects from an armed carjacking ran away from police officers in Stonebridge Town Center on Thursday afternoon in Woodbridge, police said.

The Prince William County Police Department said two suspects were taken into custody. Authorities are still looking for two more suspects, a police officer on the scene told Patch.

Helicopters and drones could be heard flying over Stonebridge throughout the afternoon.

Employees at the Wegmans store in Stonebridge told Patch that they were told to leave the store as officers searched for suspects.

Grocery carts were abandoned in aisles and items were left in checkout lanes.

Several marked and unmarked police cars blocked the entrance to the Wegmans on Thursday afternoon. The store reopened around 4:50 p.m.

Authorities are asking residents to avoid the area while the search is ongoing.
