Attempted Vehicular Assault Fails In Woodbridge: Police

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A woman tried to run over a male acquaintance with her vehicle Tuesday night at the Willowbrook community pool, 1375 Walnut Street, according to Prince William County Police. Rebecca Marie Dent, 37, of the 1400 block of Walnut Street, was charged with attempted malicious wounding and assault and battery. She was released on a $25,000 secured bond.

Shortly before 9 p.m., police went to the pool for a reported assault. They found that the victim, 26, was involved in an argument with Dent that escalated. She then slapped him in the face, got into her vehicle and allegedly tried to run over him. He suffered minor injuries.
