Babysitter Wanted For Child Neglect Arrested In Woodbridge: Police

A babysitter wanted for leaving two young children unattended last weekend in Dumfries while she took a nap was arrested Thursday: Police.

DUMFRIES, VA — A babysitter wanted for leaving two young children unattended last weekend while she took a nap was arrested Thursday at a residence on Burbank Lane in Woodbridge, according to Prince William County Police. Amanda Sue Allen, 30, of the 3200 block of Burbank Lane, was charged with two counts of felony child neglect and one count of giving false identification to law enforcement. She's being held without bond.

Shortly before 12:30 p.m. last Saturday, police arrived at the 3500 block of Briarwood Drive in Dumfries for a report of child neglect. They found an 11-month-old girl and a 2-year-old boy outside with no supervision. Then they found the residence, where the babysitter was asleep. At some point during the investigation, Allen made her escape through a rear bedroom window. She wound up being arrested without incident.
