Welcome to the Baltimore Cuban Salsa Party Volume 3, “The Best of the Best: East meets West!” This magnificent gathering, unlike any other that the DMV has witnessed, will be a reunion of those who love the sounds of Timba, Rumba, Son, Guanguaco, and other Afro-Latin rhythms. In addition to listening to the sounds of Cuba, be prepared to dance the night through to Salsa, Casio/Rueda de Casino, Bachata, real Rumba, and many other styles of dance. You will experience first- hand what has originated from Cuba and, in part, has had a very profound influence on Latin dancing as we know it today.

We are doing something unique this year. Scaling back and providing a 4 hour mini intensive workshop from two of the best afro folkloric /casino dance masters in the world!!! Master Kati Hernandez (Los Angeles, CA) and Master Duane Wrenn (Detroit, MI) together form Afro-Timba. They have designed a workshop which will provide the main ingredients to make everyone a better dancer no matter what level you are. The workshop will include ladies’ styling, men’s styling, and the elements of Afro Folkloric movements which, when added to your dance, will dramatically improve your dancing. During the workshops to add authenticity we will have live drummers Randell Villalonga and Orishabo from Havana, Cuba!

In order to further your enjoyment and to prepare you for the night, immediately preceding the party there will be a Rueda de Casino class that you won’t want to miss. It will be taught by one of the most popular Salsa Rueda instructors in the country! We have brought in Julian Mejia from Atlanta, GA (founder of SALSAtlanta).

DJ Dola Yoruba ON2 (Co-Founder of the Salsa Underground – Washington, D.C.) will be the Master of Ceremony. He will navigate us through this journey for all of those in attendance.

Following the workshops, there will be a party like none you’ve ever seen! We guarantee it!!! The night will belong to two of the best DJ’s on the planet. All the way from San Francisco we have DJ Walt Diggz and from New York City we have none other than DJ Asho!!! There will also be performances from some of the best dance crews in the country: Saoco of Washington DC, Ruedame of New York, Dundunbanza (Washington D.C./New York collaboration) and Masters Kati from and Duane will give a Rumba performance that will be out of this world!!! In addition, we also will have special musical performances done by drummers Randell Villalonga and Orishabo from Havana, Cuba as well as world renowned guitarist Mr. Mark Edwards.
