With Box Cutter in Hand, Victim Fights Off Assailant

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A man is being held without bond on assault charges after the victim reportedly defended himself with a box cutter, according to Prince William County Police.

Andres Camilo Villegas Torres, 34, of 7700 Havenbrook Way in Springfield is charged with 3 counts of reckless endangerment, 1 count of abduction, 1 count of assault & battery, and 1 count of felony hit and run.

On Sunday afternoon, a woman told police that she and Villegas Torres were in an argument. He reportedly spotted the woman riding in a car with a 61-year-old Woodbridge man.

Villegas Torres allegedly drove his vehicle into the other man’s car, causing minor damage. He then got out of his car and began punching the victim in the head, according to police.

The victim grabbed a box cutter and cut Villegas Torres in the face to stop the assault. Villegas Torres fled. Police found him at a local hospital.

Investigators learned that there were three children in the car with Villegas Torres at the time that he allegedly rammed the other vehicle, including a 2-year-old boy. The children were not injured.
