Boy, 12, Shot After Argument in Woodbridge

WOODBRIDGE, VA โ Prince William County Police is investigating the shooting of a 12-year-old boy Sunday night in Woodbridge.
The victim was transported to a local hospital with serious, non-life threatening injuries.
Officers responded near 7:30 p.m. Sunday to the 4900 block of Kirwyn Court regarding a shooting.

According to police, the boy was playing in the area with friends when he was involved in an argument with an acquaintance that escalated.
During the encounter, a large fight broke out between the two parties, according to a police statement.

"At some point, a suspect riding inside a SUV fired several rounds into the crowd striking the victim in the arm and lower body," according to police.
The vehicle then fled the area prior to police arriving.
Detectives have determined that this shooting was not random.
