Twangy, cheesy burgers that will make your mouth water.
Today's recipe - Danny Burgers
These burgers are unlike anything you've ever tried. Twangy, cheesy and large - just like we like 'em. Great in the frying pan or oven, but, best on the smoker and grill. Give 'em a try and let me know what you think.
5 lbs. ground chuck
3 lbs. shredded, sharp cheddar cheese
2 bottles Honey BBQ sauce
1 bottle Hickory BBQ sauce
1 bottle Texas Pete Yellow Mustard sauce
1 cup onion soup mix
1/2 tsp. liquid smoke
1 tbsp. worchestershire sauce
1 tsp. each - salt, pepper and garlic power
Combine the hamburger and shredded cheese and form the mixture into 16 burger patties and place them in a single layer in a large baking pan. Add your dry spices and the soup mix on top of the meat. Combine your wet ingredients in a bowl and gently pour the mixture over the burgers. Cover the pan with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
Crank up your grill and throw some apple wood chips into your smoker. Let them both come up to temp and place your burgers onto the smoker rack. Close the lid and let the meat smoke for 30 minutes. Move your burgers over to the hot grill and finish cook them to medium well. Serve on buns with all of your favorite toppings and condiments.
