DAR Hosts Clean up

Adopt a Spot activity by NSDAR, supported by Neabsco Action Alliance and local volunteers.

What do 13 people do at 9 a.m. on a Saturday morning with temperatures at 36 degrees and a fierce wind blowing? If you were thinking stay indoors and drink hot chocolate, you’d be wrong!

The Prince William Resolves Chapter, NSDAR, has acquired an Adopt a Spot through Keep Prince William Beautiful. Their location is on Dale Boulevard, from Ridgefield Road to Andrew Leitch Park, a busy stretch of road that definitely needs some care.

The newly formed Neabsco Action Alliance joined the Resolves to help them get started on the first of nine cleanups per year of their area. Volunteers from age 10 to 70 made good time in cleaning up both sides of the road and the median.

Our sincere thanks to NSDAR members, Marie Vayer, Joyce Briggs, Heather Simpson, Tiffany Wilson, Dolores Swartwood, Doris Harris, Betsy Battles and Jake Wilson. Special thanks to Dale Vayer for picking up the 18 bags of litter we collected and transporting it to the landfill.

Thanks also to Neabsco Action Alliance members: Bill Moser, Kelly Easterly, Linda Gosnell and Connie Moser and volunteers, Teresa Giltner and James Hicks.
