SLUG: Did You Say Free Ride to/from Metropolitan D.C.?
Yes, I became a SLUG and so can you! I was thrilled when I learned about slugging! What a great way to shave 20-30 minutes off your commute each way.
Ride instead of drive with no fee—it just doesn't get any better than that.
I will tell you however, the first time I stood in the Tackett's Mill commuter parking lot slug line and reached for the stranger's car door handle I thought...
"How many times have I told my children NEVER to get in a car with a stranger and here I am doing that very thing." After I returned home from my first day of slugging, I did call my 25-year-old daughter and told her what I had done. I think if she could have grounded me for my behavior, she would have done so.

I continued to ride with strangers (all career professionals) for the year I was working downtown. I found it to be a safe, effficient and affordable way to commute from the Woodbridge area.
Question: Would you consider becoming a SLUG?
