Cab Driver Ambushed, Beaten In Woodbridge

Two armed teenagers ambushed a taxi driver early Saturday, hit him in the head with a gun, stole his cab and fled in it: PWC Police.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — Two armed teenagers ambushed a 66-year-old taxi driver early Saturday morning, hit him in the head with a gun, stole his cab and fled the scene in the 1300 block of East Longview Drive, according to Prince William County Police. After an investigation, police found that the two male suspects already were jailed in Fairfax County for unrelated offenses.

Tyquan White, 19, of the 3200 block of Walters Lane in District Heights, Md., was charged with robbery, malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. He's being held without bond. A 17-year-old of Maryland was charged with carjacking, malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. Shortly before 3 a.m., police responded to the scene to investigate a carjacking. They found that the taxi arrived at the aforementioned location to pick up a fare when the driver was approached by two unknown males. One of them flashed a gun as they pulled him out of cab. They then whacked him in the head with the handgun and demanded property. The victim yelled for help, a witness called police and the suspects stole the cap and sped away.

The cab driver suffered serious injuries and received treatment at an area hospital.
