The Historic Sydenstricker Schoolhouse (8511 Hooes Road, Springfield) has arranged for the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation to come to the Schoolhouse on October 4, 2025. During this OPEN HOUSE, facilitators from the Foundation will be utilizing science skills to help families better connect and understand the history of Jamestown. The facilitators will present two outstanding, educational hands-on programs: Archaeology Discovery and Science on The James. These programs will appeal to all kids from 3 years to 83 years and fit well with the Fairfax County Public School fourth-grade programs for Virginia history. The Foundation will continuously present these programs from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. The Schoolhouse offers this program to the public free of charge, but will graciously accept donations to help us maintain the historic Sydenstricker Schoolhouse and be able to continue to offer future entertaining events and programs to the community.
