Cappies Nominations Recognize 3 Prince William County School Plays

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA — Three Prince William County high schools delighted their audiences — and critics — with their latest theater productions, earning them nominations from the Tony Award-like Cappies of the National Capital Area.

Prince William County's nominated schools included Colgan High School, Woodbridge Senior High School, and Osbourn Park High School.

Winners of the Cappies awards will be announced at the Cappies Gala on June 12 at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in DC.

Colgan High School received a pair of nominations for its production of "Eurydice." The groups of actors who played The Stones were nominated for Best Ensemble in a Play. Ainsley McNatt was nominated for Best Lead Actor in a Female Role in a Play.

Woodbridge High School earned a trio of nominations for the cast of "Peter and the Starcatcher." The Pirates are nominated for Best Ensemble in a Play, while Audrey Evans was nominated for Best Supporting Actor in a Male Role in a Play. Christina Hayes was also nominated for Best Comic Actor in a Male Role in a Play.

Students at Osbourn Park High School garnered nominations, as well. Owen Simmons was nominated as an Andy Mays Rising Critic. Khailah Schroeter earned a nomination for Best Comic Actor in a Female Role in a Musical for her performance in "Mean Girls."
