3 State Troopers Crash While Chasing Stolen Car On I-95, Suspects Still At Large: Police
5 state troopers were injured in a crash during a chase on I-95 on Wednesday. Two suspects were arrested and two more are still at large.
PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA — A police chase on I-95 in Prince William County caused three police cars to crash into each other on Wednesday morning, Virginia State Police said in a report. After the chase, two suspects were arrested, but two more people are still at large.
The police pursuit began around 5 a.m. on Wednesday morning near the American Legion Bridge on I-495 in Fairfax County. Fairfax County police said a 2012 Ford Fiesta that was reported stolen from New York was traveling southbound.
When a Fairfax County police officer tried to initiate a traffic stop, the stolen Ford Fiesta fled at speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour, according to the police report.

When the stolen car approached exit 158 on I-95 in Prince William County, troopers tried to slow the car by positioning their own vehicles around it. The Ford rammed one of the trooper's vehicles twice, causing it to spin out, state police officials said. The chain reaction caused three troopers' vehicles to crash.
Five state troopers suffered minor injuries in the crash, police said. They were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment; they have all been released.

State police said they found the stolen car in a restaurant parking lot in the 2400 block of Prince William Parkway. The car was abandoned, police said.
Prince William County K-9 teams responded to the area to help state police search for the suspects. Police found a 19-year-old woman and a 28-year-old man around 8 a.m. They were taken into custody without further incident, and charges are pending, according to the police report.
Authorities said they are still looking for two other suspects who fled from the stolen car. Virginia State Police said they are working with the Prince William County Police Department to determine if the missing suspects were responsible for stealing a silver 2012 Honda Civic that was reported missing from a residence on Paxton Street at 7:25 a.m. Wednesday. The stolen Honda has Virginia license plates VHU-7931.
