One of the most liberating moments for me was the day someone told me "Nicole you can’t manage time, you can only manage activities!"
I was one of those people running around with an over-committed calendar. Volunteering for things because I used to automatically say yes! Trying to juggle family time, my career, and in the early days, starting my own business.
Then my eyes were opened. (Sharper vision just gave me clarity!)

Time management is a myth. We only get 24 hours. We'll never get a second more. So why try to "make more time?"
It's smarter to focus on how we use it. Once I understood that it is impossible to manage time I became more realistic and worked to manage the activities I gave my time to.

It was liberating....give it a try. Look at your calendar (you do use a calendar, right?). Outside of work and taking care of your family, try to pick out the things that you didn't want to do or don't really have time for. Clear the clutter from your calendar.
Think about how you can replace it with something that will fit in with your goals. Make room on your calendar, by dumping the things that are getting in your way.
Make sure you:
- Put your personal goals in writing.
- Do something every week do something that brings you closer to your goals
- Use a calendar to track your use of time
- Schedule appointments for you to complete priority work
I'd love to hear about the one thing you decided to do less of!
