Child Abducted in Woodbridge: Police

An 11-year-old boy left in the care of a mother's friend wound up at a restaurant instead of school, say Prince William County Police.

TRIANGLE, VA — So a woman leaves her 11-year-old son with a male acquaintance, who presumably was going make sure the child made it to school Wednesday morning from the residence in the 3800 block of Graham Park Road. But according to Prince William County Police, when the mother returned in the afternoon she found that her son never made it to school.

Instead, following an investigation, he was found at a restaurant in the 2700 block of Potomac Mills Circle. James Jefferson Marshall III, 28, of the 3300 block of Yost Lane in Dumfries was charged with abduction and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He's being held without bond.

The mother told police she left the residence in the care of Marshall shortly after 6:30 a.m. When she got home, there was no son and no caretaker, so she called police and reported him as missing.
