Columbus Day 2016: What's Open, What's Closed in Woodbridge

WOODBRIDGE, VA — Columbus Day is that relatively odd holiday during which most traditional closings are the norm — unless they're not.

Here's a brief rundown of what's open and what's not Monday in Woodbridge:

Banks: Most banks are closed but check with your financial institution to be sure.

Financial markets: U.S. markets open.

Government offices: Closed.

Mail: No mail. Post offices are closed.

Schools: Closed, but it's a teacher work day.

Trash collection: Because the county doesn't offer trash pickup, check with your preferred provider.
