Cop Assaulted After Gun Incident in Woodbridge: Police
The man had a concealed weapon and tried to ditch it before pushing an officer and fleeing, according to Prince William County Police.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A man being investigated for gun possession Tuesday morning in the 13900 block of Jefferson Davis Highway dropped a gun on the ground, pushed the officer and then tried to run away, according to Prince William County Police.
He didn't get far. Jose Roberto Hernandez, 31, of the 14900 block of Concord Drive, was charged with assault and battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest and carrying a concealed weapon — which turned out to be a BB gun.
Around 11:45 a.m., police responded to the area for a report of a man with a gun, who was immediately identified based on a caller's description.

During questioning, he was seen removing a handgun from his pocket and dropping it on the ground. That's when his unsuccessful push-and-dash attempt.
