Cop Assaulted After Power Tools Stolen in Woodbridge: Police

The man sold the power tools at a nearby pawn shop Saturday before being confronted by Prince William County Police.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A man who assaulted a police officer after stealing power tools from the Walmart at 14000 Worth Avenue and then selling them at a nearby pawn shop was arrested Saturday, according to Prince William County Police.

Ralph Edon, 35, of no fixed address, was charged with assault and batter on a law enforcement officer, obstruction of justice, resisting arrest, obtaining money by false pretenses and petit larceny.

Shortly after 4 p.m., police responded to a report of a larceny at the aforementioned Walmart, and while en route, they spotted an individual matching the suspect's description an the intersection of Prince William Parkway and Smoketown Road.

Edon was confronted, shoved an officer and fled on foot to a nearby restaurant where he was arrested without further incident.

Edon is being held without bond.
