Cops Assaulted While Serving Warrant in Dumfries: Police
Dumfries man lashed out at officers trying to serve him with a warrant, according to Prince William County Police.
DUMFRIES, VA — A man who was being served with a warrant Monday night in the 3100 block of Antrim Circle certainly didn't go quietly, assaulting two cops trying to arrest him, according to Prince William County Police.
Michael Anthony Vann Jr., 29, of the 3100 block of Antrim Circle in Dumfries, was charged with assault and battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest. The original warrant's origins are unclear.
A little bit before 6:30 p.m., police arrived at the residence to serve paperwork on Vann. When they tried to arrest him, he became agitated and resisted before being subdued after a brief struggle.
