Cost To Gas Up In Woodbridge Before Christmas 2017 Travel
If you're planning to drive to a holiday destination in the next few days, you'd be wise to fill up the tank here in town before you depart.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — If you're planning to drive to a holiday destination in the next few days, you'd be wise to fill up the tank here in town before you depart. That's because, according to GasBuddy.com, gas prices in Woodbridge are around five cents cheaper than the Virginia average.
Late Thursday afternoon, prices in the area averaged about $2.19 per gallon. Statewide, the average is $2.23. Nationally, we're talking an average of $2.42, according to AAA.
Conversely, the five lowest-priced gas outlets in Woodbirdge checked it at $2.19 cents per gallon: 7-Eleven at 15621 Jefferson Davis Highway, Wawa at 15809 Jefferson Davis Highway, Wawa at 2051 Daniel Stuart Square, Exxon at 14451 Jefferson Davis Highway and Sunoco at 1260 Annapolis Way.

Meanwhile, GasBuddy has Washington DC with averages of about $2.25 per gallon at the lowest-priced stations. If you're headed about an hour south to Richmond, the lowest prices average around $2.05 per gallon.
All of that ties into what AAA is predicting to be quite the busy holiday travel season, perhaps even record breaking. From Dec. 23-Jan. 1, the travel safety organization says 107.3 million folks will hit the road, as it were, via planes trains and automobiles. That would be the highest year-end travel volume on record — and a 3.1 increase from a year ago.

A total of nearly eight million people living in Virginia, Maryland, and the Washington metro area will travel 50 miles or more from home during the Christmas/New Year's Holiday travel period. Of that number 7.2 million of those travelers will drive to their Christmas and New Year's Eve holiday destinations.
Forty-four percent of the Washington metro area's 6,131,977 residents plan to take a trip for the Christmas/New Year's holiday travel period with 91 percent of them traveling by vehicle.
