Couple Assaulted by Strangers in Woodbridge: Police

A man and a woman were accosted by strangers and assaulted while standing in a backyard, according to Prince William County Police.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A man was seriously injured during a stabbing Sunday night after he and a female acquaintance were accosted by two unknown men while standing in the backyard of residence in the 13500 block of Kingsman Road, according to Prince William County Police. He was taken to a local hospital with injuries not considered life threatening. The woman suffered minor injuries after being hit in the head with a gun.

The suspects in the incident, which doesn't appear to be random, fled the scene. One is described as a black male, 5-9, bald and with a dark complexion and a beard. The other suspect is described as a black male, 6-0, 195 pounds with black cornrows.

Shortly before 9:30 p.m., police responded to the scene and found that the man, 37, and woman, 27, were standing in the backyard and suddenly were approached by the two unknown men who were waving a handgun and a knife.

They demanded to be let into the residence but the victims replied they couldn't do that because they were locked out. That's when the woman was hit in the head with a gun while the other suspect attempted to restrain the man, who was then stabbed in the head during a struggle. He was flown to a local hospital for treatment.
