WOODBRIDGE, VA — A house fire in Dale City displaced nine people on Tuesday afternoon, the Prince William County Department of Fire and Rescue said.

No injuries were reported in the blaze. Through an investigation, authorities determined that an electrical issue sparked the fire.

The fire began around 3 p.m. on Tuesday at a home in the 15000 block of Cloverdale Road in Woodbridge. When firefighters arrived on the scene, they found flames showing from the second floor, according to a report from the fire department.

One of the adult residents reported discovering the fire.

Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the blaze, but the house sustained moderate damage. The county's building official declared the home unsafe to occupy.

The affected residents are receiving assistance from the American Red Cross. Authorities said the electrical fire began in a second-floor bedroom. They did not specify what factors could have contributed to the fire.
