Woman Shot In Car Dies In Dale City, Dog Uninjured: Police

Prince William County Police responded to a shooting where a woman was shot in her vehicle. A dog in the car was unharmed.

DALE CITY, VA — Prince William County Police responded to a shooting in Dale City Friday morning.

The shooting happened around 2:07 a.m. in the area of Brickwood Drive and Bronson Court. Officers found a 23-year-old woman in a car with life-threatening gunshot injuries. Fire and rescue responded and pronounced the woman dead on the scene.

Police say the woman was in her vehicle when she was fatally struck by gunfire. No other injuries or property damage was reported. A small dog was inside the vehicle and was not hurt. The dog was turned over to animal control officers.

The identity of the victim will be released after next-of-kin notification.
