Daughter Whacks Mom With Bat: Police

A young woman whacked her mother with a baseball bat during a violent argument Tuesday in Woodbridge: Prince William County Police.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A young woman whacked her mother with a baseball bat during a violent argument Tuesday night in the 13100 block of Quann Lane, according to Prince William County Police. Jessica Charlotte Moore, 28, of the aforementioned address, was charged with malicious wounding and domestic assault and battery. She's being held without bond.

The mother, Cathleen Whelean Pigg, 54, of the same address, was charged with domestic assault and battery. She was released on a court summons after being treated at a local hospital. Around 7:15 p.m., police went to the residence for a reported assault. They found that the two were involved in an argument that escalated twice. The first time, Pigg threw a child gate that hit her daughter in the head. The second time, Moore grabbed a bat and hit her mom in the upper body. The two eventually separated and police were called.
