Day Care Teacher Found Guilty of Child Cruelty and Assault Charges

Prosecutor said teacher had essentially created a "baby fight club" in her classroom.

A former Minnieland Academy employee has been found guilty of abusing toddlers in the day care program.

After dismissing more than a dozen charges, a judge found Sarah Jordan guilty on seven felonies and six misdemeanors in the 2013 abuse claims, according to WJLA.

The charges included child cruelty, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and assault and battery. Jordan has denied the charges, claiming co-workers were out to get her.

Prosecutor Ashleigh Landers told the court that Jordan had almost created a “baby fight club,” according to WTOP.

Ten parents testified Monday about dramatic changes in their children after they joined Jordan’s classroom, reports NBC Washington.

Jordan will be sentenced May 6.
