Dead Man Found In A Tent In Woodbridge: Police

Authorities are investigating after a dead man was found in his tent in an area near Prince William Parkway in Woodbridge on Sunday.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — Police officers found a dead man in a tent in Woodbridge on Sunday afternoon, according to the Prince William County Police Department. Authorities said the man owned the tent, which was set up in a wooded area near Prince William Parkway.

The police department has not publicly identified the man as officers work to notify his next of kin.

Authorities have not determined a cause of death, but investigators said they do not suspect foul play.

The man's acquaintances went to his tent on Sunday after he did not respond to their calls, according to the police report. They found him unconscious in his tent in the woods near Research Court and called for help.

Rescue personnel responded and pronounced the man dead at the scene. His body was taken to the Office of the Medical Examiner for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
