The Death of Jesus

This article is about the different beliefs of the death of Jesus.

Hi, I am a member of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, and in this article, I will be discussing the many beliefs of the Prophet Jesus' (may peace be upon him) death. This article will inform you the belief of Jesus' death in the perspective of Christians and Muslims (Ahmadi's and Non-Ahmadi's). Many Christians believe that Jesus was put on the cross by Roman Authorities on March 30th. 3 days later, Jesus was found dead on the cross on April 1st. After Jesus' death, he was buried in an airy tomb in a holy garden. Then, Jesus was not found in his tomb because they remembered physically putting him in his tomb. Jesus' discipline was the one who found his tomb empty. All the Roman's and Christians thought that God had taken him away from his tomb and up into heaven. In result, Christian's believe that one day Jesus will come back down to earth. This is the story of Jesus' death in the religion Christianity.

In the perspective of Non-Ahmadi Muslims in general, some Non-Ahmadi Muslims think that Jesus was never put on the cross, and someone else who looked like Jesus was put on the cross and was killed in a maximum of three days. While someone who looked like Jesus was getting killed, Jesus was taken up by God in his earthly body, and will still return, by him coming back down into the world.

In an Ahmadi Muslim perspective, we (as an Ahmadi) believe that the Quran clearly says that Jesus did not die on the cross. The Promised Messiah (AS) had stated that Jesus was certainly put on the cross but he was taken down while he was still alive, by two of his disciples secretively. When Jesus was taken down off the cross, his two disciples cured his wounds and took care of him, so he could survive. After Jesus was cured, he left Palestine and headed to Kashmir, India, where he sadly passed away.
