Driver Of Stolen Truck Flees Dumfries Hit-And-Run On Foot: Police
Witnesses to the incident provided aid to the driver of a Toyota, identified as a 49-year-old woman, before rescue personnel arrived.
DUMFRIES, VA — A driver of a stolen Chevrolet Silverado ran a red light on Route 1 in Dumfries Wednesday night and struck the driver of a Toyota Yaris who was injured and had to be flown to a nearby hospital, according to the Prince William County Police Department.
During their investigation, police officers determined the Chevrolet Silverado was recently
reported stolen. The driver immediately fled the area on foot after the crash. Meanwhile, an unknown male passenger fled from the truck shortly before the collision in the area of Panther Pride Drive.
Police were called to the hit-and-run, which occurred at the intersection of Route 1 and Port Potomac Avenue, around 9:50 p.m. Wednesday. at the location.

A police K-9 searched the area for the fleeing driver who was not located. The suspect is described as a Black male with long hair, according to the police. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, a white shirt and blue jeans, the police said.
