Drunk Man Briefly Steals Neighbor's Vehicle in Dumfries: Police

He initially entered an open garage without permission, according to Prince William County Police, and began punching a heavy bag.

DUMFRIES, VA — A drunk guy briefly stole a neighbor's vehicle and then was arrested after erratic behavior early Monday morning in the 4900 block of Tallowwood Drive, according to Prince William County Police.

Richard Edwin Brown, Jr., of the 15000 block of Silver Leaf Court, was charged with burglary, grand larceny and driving under the influence.

He's being held without bond.

Shortly after 5 a.m., officers responded to the scene and found that Brown had entered a neighbor's open garage without permission and began punching a heavy bag, after which the neighbor confronted him and became engaged in an argument with Brown.

Brown when got into the neighbor's running vehicle and drove it down the driveway before getting out and chasing the neighbor back into his home, where he locked the doors and called police.

When police arrived, they spotted Brown standing outside the residence, saw he was drunk and arrested him.
