Drunk Masked Man Assaults Cops In Woodbridge: Police

A couple of really bad decisions landed a masked Alexandria man in Prince William County lockup early Sunday.

WOODBRIDGE, VA—A couple of really bad decisions landed an Alexandria man in Prince William County lockup early Sunday. First, according to police, he was wearing a mask while standing outside a 7-Eleven in the 14800 block of Cloverdale Road. Second, when his appearance got the attention of police, he assaulted them.

Thus was Carlos Mauricio, Jr., 21, of the 400 block of Armstead Street, arrested and charged with four counts of assault and battery on a law enforcement officer, one count of wearing a mask in public, one count of carrying a concealed weapon, one count of public intoxication and one count of resisting arrest.

Shortly before 2 a.m., officers on patrol spotted the man and attempted to arrest him after making contact. While being handcuffed, he became combative and assaulted multiple cops. Minor injuries were reported.
