Dumfries Man Dies From Injuries Sustained In Woodbridge Crash

The 22-year-old died Monday from injuries he received when his car left Prince William Parkway Sunday, struck a tree and overturned.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A Dumfries man died Monday morning from injuries he sustained in a car crash Sunday when his vehicle left Prince William Parkway in Woodbridge, struck a tree and overturned, according to the Prince William County Police Department. The 22-year-old driver was identified as Ezekiel Josiah Gales.

On Sunday evening, Prince William County police officers with the department's Crash Investigation Unit responded to the area of the Prince William Parkway near Golansky Blvd. in Woodbridge to investigate the single vehicle crash.

The investigation revealed that Gales was traveling eastbound in his 2003 Ford Focus on Prince William Pkwy when he lost control of the vehicle just past Golansky Blvd. Gales was ejected from the vehicle and transported to an area hospital where he died Monday morning as a result of his injuries from the crash. There were no other occupants in the vehicle.

Alcohol and drug use are not believed to be factors in the crash, the police said.
