Early Voting For 2026 Election Begins: What's On The Prince William County Ballot

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA — Prince William County voters will choose a U.S. senator and a member of Congress in the Nov. 3 general election, along with deciding three proposed amendments to the Virginia Constitution.

Some voters will also have a special election for the Virginia House of Delegates, while residents of Dumfries, Haymarket, Occoquan and Quantico will have town elections on their ballots. The Prince William County Office of Elections confirms that the U.S. Senate, U.S. House and three constitutional amendments will appear on all county ballots.

U.S. Senate Candidates

Democratic incumbent Sen. Mark Warner is seeking a fourth term in the U.S. Senate. He faces Republican Bert Mizusawa, a retired Army major general who won the Republican nomination in the Aug. 4 primary.

The candidates are:

• Mark Warner — Democrat
• Bert Mizusawa — Republican

VA 7 Candidates

Prince William County is divided between Virginia's 7th and 10th congressional districts.

In the 7th District, Democratic incumbent Rep. Eugene Vindman is seeking a second term. Republican Douglas Ollivant won his party's Aug. 4 primary, defeating Philip Harding and Rick Smithers.

The general election field also includes Libertarian Taner Demirci Lopez and independent candidates Alaha Ahrar, Joshua Ertle and Randall Terry.

The candidates are:

• Eugene Vindman — Democrat
• Douglas Ollivant — Republican
• Taner Demirci Lopez — Libertarian
• Alaha Ahrar — Independent
• Joshua Ertle — Independent
• Randall Terry — Independent

The 7th District includes portions of Prince William County, including the Dumfries, Occoquan and Quantico areas.

VA 10 Candidates

In Virginia's 10th Congressional District, Democratic incumbent Rep. Suhas Subramanyam is running for reelection against Republican Dave Beckwith and independent Ahsen Mujeeb Malik. Beckwith won the Republican nomination in the Aug. 4 primary.

The candidates appearing on the ballot are:

• Suhas Subramanyam— Democrat
• Dave Beckwith — Republican
• Ahsen Mujeeb Malik — Independent

Steven Goforth and Omar Morsy have also filed as write-in candidates but do not appear as named candidates on the ballot.

Prince William voters can check their congressional district and view their specific sample ballot through the county Office of Elections.

House District 20 Special Election

Some Prince William County voters will have another race on their ballot: a special election for Virginia's 20th House of Delegates District.

The candidates are:

• Sonia Ruth Vasquez Luna — Democrat
• Nathaniel "Nate" Fritzen — Republican

The special election will fill the remainder of the term ending in January 2028. The district includes portions of Prince William County as well as Manassas and Manassas Park.

In Prince William County, the House District 20 contest will appear in precincts 204, 211, 212, 213 and 408, according to the county Office of Elections.

Three Constitutional Amendments

All Prince William County residents can vote on three proposed amendments to the Virginia Constitution.

The proposals concern abortion, marriage and restoration of voting rights for people convicted of felonies after they complete their prison sentences.

Each proposed amendment will appear as a separate ballot question.

• Question 1: reproductive rights

• Question 2: same-sex marriage

• Question 3: restoration of voting rights

Town Elections

Residents of four Prince William County towns will also have local races on their ballots: Dumfries, Haymarket, Occoquan and Quantico. See sample ballots showing those races here.

How To Vote Early

Early voting for the Nov. 3 general election begins Friday, Sept. 18 in Prince William County.

From Sept. 18 to Oct. 16, voters can cast ballots at two sites:

• The county Office of Elections at 9250 Lee Ave., Suite 1, Manassas, and

• The Woodbridge DMV, 2731 Caton Hill Road, Woodbridge.

Both locations will be open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with extended hours until 7 p.m. on Wednesdays.

From Oct. 18 to Oct. 31, voters can cast ballots at the following additional sites:

• AJ Ferlazzo Building, 15941 Donald Curtis Dr., Woodbridge.

• ​Brentsville Courthouse, 12229 Bristow Rd., Bristow.

• ​Dumfries Community Center, 17757 Main St., Dumfries.

• ​Haymarket Gainesville Library, 14870 Lightner Rd., Haymarket.

The final day to vote early in person is Saturday, Oct. 31.

Key Voting Dates

• Sept. 18: Early in-person voting begins.
• Oct. 23: Deadline to register or update an existing voter registration using the regular registration process.
• Oct. 23 at 5 p.m.: Deadline to request a mail ballot.
• Oct. 31: Final day of in-person early voting.
• Nov. 3: Election Day.

Virginia also offers same-day registration for eligible voters who miss the regular registration deadline.
