Want to know a little more about a person? Look inside his/her purse/wallet. Mine, for instance, currently says, I need to clean out my purse. Lighten up the load, and save your shoulder.

Do you know when you last had a check up? Any changes in medications? What about your cholesterol? Consider typing up this information and keeping a print-out in your wallet. Carry your health-insurance card, At the least, it'll help remind you to focus on your health.

Your last meeting of the day was canceled, and suddenly you've got a free half-hour. Why not use it to get...
1) a relaxing shampoo and style, manicure, scalp massage, or that haircut you didn't have time for?
2)fit as a fiddle? Make it easy to head to the gym or take a yoga class by always carrying your membership cards and monthly class schedules with you.

A healthy snack in your handbag can go a long way toward helping you maintain a balanced diet. Instead of grabbing something from the vending machine, you can dig into that bag of trail mix, almonds, whole-grain crackers, a low-fat granola bar or a yogurt smoothie.

If you're taking medication for any chronic disease, always carry a couple of pills in your bag so you can take them on the go if you realize you've forgotten a dose. Also carry a few tablets of acetaminophen or ibuprofen and antacid, just in case. Experts say it's smart to always carry your doctors' cards or phone numbers with you. Whether you need to make a last-minute appointment or you want to discuss a recent symptom, doctors' phone numbers or e-mail addresses are important to have at your fingertips.

With more than 1 million new cases of skin cancer diagnosed every year in the United States, it's important to protect yourself from the sun. Aside from avoiding the sun during peak hours and having your skin checked by a dermatologist, try wearing a sun screen with an SPF of at least 15 every day. Keep a small bottle in your handbag so you can reapply every two to three hours if you're going to spend part of the day outside.

We spend a lot of time waiting--whether it's for the bus or for the plane, instead of getting aggravated, why not use this time to relax with the help of a book, music or both on those nifty little I PODS. If you want to keep your purse's load light, try stocking it with a couple of pictures of family or friends to give you a pleasant distraction.

If you want to lower your chances of transmitting a bacterial virus, such as strep throat, try carrying antibacterial hand gel. This is smart if you spend a lot of time in public places, especially around flu season. Gels and hand wipes can help protect you and your family on the go.

To improve your energy level, remove toxins from your body and keep your skin looking healthy, all you really need is a bottle of water. keeping a small supply in your purse to keep you hydrated and help you avoid sugary drinks full of empty calories.
