Mom Leaves 10-Year-Old Home Alone, Leaves State: Police

A Woodbridge mother was arrested Wednesday for allegedly leaving her 10-year-old girl home alone while the woman made an out-of-state trip.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A mother was arrested Wednesday for leaving a 10-year-old girl unattended while the suspect left for an out-of-state trip, leaving the girl alone at a residence in the 1400 block of Fawn Hollow Lane, according to Prince William County Police. Delisa Marie Torres, 29, was charged with felony child endangerment. She's being held without bond.

Shortly before 7 a.m., police responded to the scene to investigate a request to check on the welfare of a child. That's when officers found that the girl had been left alone because of the aforementioned out-of-state trip. Child Protective Services officials were summoned, and the child was released into the custody of a family member.
