PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA — A house fire in Lake Ridge displaced five people on Monday afternoon, according to the Prince William County Department of Fire and Rescue. No injuries were reported as a result of the fire.

Emergency personnel responded to the blaze around 2:30 p.m. on Monday afternoon. The residents discovered the fire in the 12700 block of Lockleven Lane as they returned home, authorities said.

When fire crews arrived, they observed heavy smoke and a fire spreading from the kitchen, according to a report from the department of fire and rescue. The fire was quickly extinguished.

The fire marshal's office determined that the fire was accidental. They also noted that the home sustained extensive damage, though they did not provide an exact cost estimation.
