Fire Rips Through Woodbridge Home

A fire ripped through a home Thursday night in Woodbridge and left a family of eight without lodging: OWL Volunteer Fire Department.

WOODBRIDGE, VA—A fire ripped through a home Thursday night at 13309 Greenacre Drive and left a family of eight without lodging, according to the Occoquan-Woodbridge-Lorton Volunteer Fire Department. No injuries were reported, and the flames were brought under control in a little less than an hour.

At 10:39 p.m., firefighters received a call about a house fire at the aforementioned location. Crews arrived within minutes of the report and found flames shooting through the side of the structure, extending to the roof. Firefighters entered the home through the front door and went to the work on the second floor and the attic. A hole was cut in the roof to facilitate the battle.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. The Red Cross was called to assist the family.
