Firefighter Injured In Dale City Blaze On Friday, Authorities Say
A fire began at a Dale City home after food was left unattended on a stovetop. One firefighter was injured while extinguishing the blaze.

DALE CITY, VA — A fire broke out at a home in Dale City on Friday afternoon, according to a report from the Prince William County Department of Fire and Rescue.
One firefighter suffered minor injuries while working to extinguish the blaze, authorities said. Investigators believe the fire began after food was left unattended on a stove.
Firefighters responded to a home in the 6000 block of Fox Den Court around 4 p.m. on Friday. When first responders arrived, the residents had already evacuated, according to the incident report.

Firefighters extinguished the fire, which was based in the kitchen. The kitchen sustained moderate damage, the fire department said. The Prince William County Building Official deemed the home unsafe to occupy.
"The Fire Marshal’s Office reminds everyone, never leave food unattended cooking on a stove top," officials said in a news release. "Always keep combustible materials and small children away from cooking devices in use."
