Each suspect was charged with one count of assault by mob and one count of gang participation. Their dates in court are pending.

All six suspects claimed to be associates of a local gang, and the assault was in retaliation for a March 7 brawl at Potomac Mills mall in Woodbridge, police said.

The victim in the Boys & Girls Club incident, a 16-year-old male juvenile from Woodbridge, was mistakenly identified by the assailants as being involved in that fight, police said. However, it was determined that he was not involved. The investigation of the Potomac Mills fight is ongoing.
