WOODBRIDGE, VA โ A frenzied mob attack that grew in its ferocity when the two victims' mother attempted to intervene late Sunday afternoon finally ended when a gun went off in the 2100 block of Powell's Landing Circle, according to Prince William County Police. The mob was made up of a large group of juveniles, and police say they know the identity of several of them.
Shortly before 4:30 p.m., police responded to a report of a large fight. They found that two victims, a 19-year-old man and a 17-year-old girl, were standing outside their residence when they were approached by the group of juveniles. For whatever reason, the juveniles began attacking the man and the girl. (For more local news, click here to sign up for real-time news alerts. When the victims' mom saw the fight, she got a baseball bat and tried to break it up but one of the juveniles grabbed the bat and then smacked the 17-year-old in the head. The mother then went inside and returned with a gun. Again, one of the juveniles tried to grab it. As a struggle ensued, the gun discharged one round, after which the juveniles ran away. Charges are pending.
