Fugitive in Woodbridge Shooting Captured: Police

He was arrested Thursday in Winchester by members of the U.S. Marshals' Fugitive Task Force, according to Prince William County Police.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A man suspected of shooting a juvenile acquaintance in the lower body Tuesday night was arrested Thursday in Winchester by members of the U.S. Marshals' Fugitive Task Force, according to Prince William County Police.

Aubrey Lindo McKay III, 19, of no fixed address, was charged with aggravated malicious wounding and use of a firearm in commission of a felony. He's being held without bond.

Tuesday around 7 p.m., police responded to a report of a shooting in the 14700 block of Birchdale Avenue. The victim, 17, was shot close to the nearby basketball courts in what apparently was an ongoing dispute, police say.

He was taken to a local hospital and is expected to survive.

Police say they quickly identified the suspect as McKay, and obtained warrants for his arrest. After an extensive search, he was found at a home in Winchester.
