Gunfire Heard, But No Suspects Found

Prince William County police are investigating reports of late-night fight in Triangle.

Gunfire broke out early Thursday during a brawl in Triangle, sending one man to the hospital, and Prince William County police are investigating the incident.

At 1:54 a.m., officers responded to the area of Kilmer Lane and Graham Park Road in Triangle to investigate a fight involving weapons, according to a police report. A caller told police that during the fight, gunshots were heard.

The people involved in the fight dispersed before police arrived. A police dog searched for possible suspects after evidence of shooting were discovered by officers at the scene, the police report said.

Shortly before 3:30 a.m., the shooting victim, identified as a 26-year-old Woodbridge man, arrived at an area hospital suffering from a gunshot wound to the lower body. Hospital staff immediately notified police, and detectives determined that the victim was in the area of Kilmer Lane during the fight, the report said.

The gunshot wound sustained by the victim was non-life threatening, police said, and the investigation is continuing.
