Herndon Man's Body Recovered From Water At Leesylvania State Park

The body of a 32-year-old Herndon man was recovered Saturday from an area of the Potomac River near Leesylvania State Park.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — The body of a Herndon man was recovered Saturday from an area of the Potomac River near Leesylvania State Park in Woodbridge, according to the Prince William County Police Department.

Nasir Ahmad Malukazai, 32, was reported missing Friday night. His body was recovered in the water around 10 a.m. Saturday by members of the Prince William County Police Underwater Search and Rescue Team. No foul play is suspected at this time in Malukazai's death, the police said.

Prince William County police officers arrived at Leesylvania State Park around 7:50 p.m. Friday to help the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries with a report of a missing person who was last seen swimming at the park.

Personnel from the Prince William County Department of Fire & Rescue, Fairfax County, the U.S. Coast Guard, and Charles County, Maryland, helped with the search, which continued throughout Friday night.
