Hospital Patient Assaults Cop, Nurse, Staff In Woodbridge

A hospital patient assaulted an officer, a nurse and several staff members Friday at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center: PWC Police.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A unruly hospital patient assaulted an officer, a nurse and several staff members last Friday at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center, 2300 Opitz Boulevard, according to Prince William County Police. Sade Lechelle Poole, 30, of the 200 block of Happy Creek Road in Locust Grove, was arrested and charged with assault and battery on a law enforcement officer, assault and battery on a health care provider and two counts of assault and battery. She's being held without bond.

Around 9:45 a.m., an officer in the hospital observed a disorderly patient and attempted to detain her but she resisted and whacked him in the face. A struggle ensued, during which she also hit a nurse and several staff members who tried to break up the fracas. She finally was subdued and taken to jail. Minor injuries were reported.
