WOODBRIDGE, VA — A house caught on fire in Woodbridge on Friday morning, according to the fire department. Authorities said the blaze began in the garage and spread to the rest of the home.

No injuries were reported in the fire, according to the Prince William County Department of Fire and Rescue. The county's building official declared that the home was unsafe to occupy. An adult and a child were displaced.

The fire marshal's office has not determined what caused the fire, according to a news release on Friday afternoon.

Firefighters arrived at the home on Topsail Lane in Woodbridge around 11:30 a.m. on Friday. The first responders noted heavy fire and smoke showing from the garage and the blaze was extending into the home.

The home sustained significant damage, and the residents are receiving help from the American Red Cross.
