Keep the fleas away with these tips

Protect your Woodbridge, VA feline during flea season with these helpful tips

Fleas are an unfortunate reality that can come with owning a cat. Even the most fastidious feline with the most conscientious humans can face such a nuisance. Here are a few tips to prevent a flea infestation:

  • It's important to stay vigilant about the monthly flea and tick medication.
  • Whenever your cat goes outside, be sure to check him or her thoroughly afterward. Comb through the fur and be mindful of those out of sight areas that can be a hideout for fleas.
  • Make sure to keep your yard clean and well manicured. You may need to get a chemical flea killer for outside. Try using flea-repellent plants in your garden and landscaping. Not only do some of the following annoy fleas, they can annoy other pests as well (and you can even cook with most of them): garlic, rosemary, lavender, sweet bay, sage, mint, citronella and lemongrass.

Learning how to control and prevent fleas makes everyone happy. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to call us at (703) 897-5665 for assistance!
