Knife-Wielding Man Smacked With Skateboard In Dumfries: Police

A skateboard was used to fend off an attempted knife attack Tuesday night in Dumfries, according to Prince William County Police.

DUMFRIES, VA—A skateboard was used to fend off an attempted knife attack Tuesday night in the 3500 block of Briarwood Drive, according to Prince William County Police. Gabriel Bond Kunu, 23, of the aforementioned address, was charged with attempted malicious wounding and is being held without bond.

Shortly after 8:30 p.m., police responded to the apartment for a reported assault. They found that Kunu had been been drinking with several acquaintances when they got into an argument that escalated. Police say Kunu grabbed a knife and tried to cut members of the group.

But he was foiled when one of them picked up a skateboard and smacked him across the face, causing him to drop the knife. He suffered minor injuries.
