Local Band Selected To Perform at Governors Inauguration

The Freedom High School (Woodbridge VA) Marching Eagles Band has gained a reputation as Northern Virginia’s premiere multicultural high stepping marching band. Under the direction of Mr. Thomas Thorogood, this gifted group of students was recently selected as one of two high school band programs in the Commonwealth of Virginia to perform during The Inauguration of Ralph Northam as the 73rd Governor of The Commonwealth of Virginia on January 13, 2018. .

Band Director, Thomas Thorogood, shared “this is a well-deserved honor for such a young and growing program! Our students represent the diversity and strength of Virginia and we are proud to represent Northern VA and especially Prince William County on this great occasion.”

At 4:00pm today 1/11/18 we have scheduled to speak and give well wishes:
Ryan Sawyer, Chair, PWC School Board, Loree Williams, Woodbridge Representative, PWC School Board & Mrs. Andrea Bailey, member, Governor Northam Inaugural Committee.

The students, as you can imagine are tickled with excitement. What's great is not only does the schools administration support but county board officials as well.
