Lorton Crash Kills Woodbridge Woman
A Woodbridge woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash Thursday night in Lorton, according to Fairfax County Police.
LORTON, VA — A Woodbridge woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash Thursday night near the intersection of Old Colchester Road and Gunston Road, according to Fairfax County Police. Lidya Brayant, 19, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Shortly before 8 p.m., police say Brayant was headed north on Gunston Road when she ran off the road. She hit a tree, turned completely around and then his another tree. Police say alcohol does not appear to be in the mix but are looking into whether excessive speed was a "contributing factor."
