WOODBRIDGE, VA — A Dumfries man was arrested last week after he allegedly ran over an officer's foot with his vehicle while attempting to flee police. According to Prince William police, Cody Michael Crenshaw, 23, was driving recklessly in the Potomac Mills parking lot before he was arrested on charges of attempted malicious wounding, reckless driving, eluding., and driving on a revoked license.

An off-duty officer was in the parking lot of 2700 Potomac Mills Cir. just before 1:20 p.m. Nov. 12. While there, he saw a car driving recklessly in between other vehicles. Once the car was parked, the officer approached the passenger side window and noticed a strong odor of marijuana, police said.

After identifying himself as a police officer to the two men inside the car, the driver — later identified as Crenshaw — backed out of the parking spot at a high rate of speed, running over the officer's right foot before speeding recklessly out of the parking lot, police said.
