Man Arrested For Forcing Woman Into Car's Trunk: Police

A Woodbridge man was arrested for allegedly forcing a woman into the trunk of a vehicle before leaving on foot with their infant son.

DUMFRIES, VA — A Woodbridge man was arrested Thursday in Dumfries for allegedly forcing a woman into the trunk of a vehicle before leaving on foot with their 1-year-old son, according to the Prince William County Police Department. The 21-year-old victim reported minor injuries, the police said.

The accused, 27-year-old Abubakar Sidikie Bundu, is charged with abduction, domestic assault and battery, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He is being held in the Prince William County jail on no bond.

At just before 2 p.m. Thursday, Prince William County police officers responded to the 3700 block of Greentree Lane in Dumfries after the 21-year-old woman was found inside the trunk of a vehicle. The victim reported to police that she and an acquaintance, identified as Bundu, were at a residence in Dumfries when they got into an argument. During the argument, Bundu allegedly struck and kicked the victim, who was holding their 1-year-old son at the time, causing her and the baby to fall to the ground.

The couple left the residence with their son and traveled to the Greentree Lane area in Dumfries where Bundu allegedly forced the victim into the trunk of the vehicle.

Upon arriving at the scene, the police located Bundu nearby and took him into custody without incident. The child suffered a minor injury, the police said in an email to Patch.
